Nintendo Direct: Super Nintendo World presentation now live; Donkey Kong Country to open on Dec. 11th at Universal Studios Japan

Update: the latest Nintendo Direct presentation, entirely dedicated to Super Nintendo World, is now live. Here’s the recording:

As expected, it was hosted by Shigeru Miyamoto himself, who showcased what the upcoming Donkey Kong Country expansion is all about. The president of Universal Studios Japan also announced that it will open on December 11th there (with the US parks getting it in 2025).

The Nintendo Direct in late August/September is usually the last “general” presentation of the year, and it looks like this year will be no exception. However, Nintendo still holds the occasional presentation every now and then, like the Nintendo Direct: Super Nintendo World one announced earlier today.

During this new Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo will showcase the Donkey Kong Country expansion coming later this year to Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan (and later at other Super Nintendo World parks).

The Super Nintendo World presentation is expected to last around 10 minutes, and like the first one, it’s guaranteed to be hosted by Shigeru Miyamoto himself. The opening date of the Donkey Kong Country expansion is one of the announcements he’s expected to make during the presentation. Oh, and for those expecting game news, Nintendo specifies that there won’t be any whatsoever (not even a new trailer for the upcoming Donkey Kong Country Returns HD!).

This Nintendo Direct: Super Nintendo World presentation will be streamed lived on:

  • Europe: November 11th at 11PM
  • UK: November 11th at 10PM
  • North America (ET): November 11th at 5PM
  • North America (PT): November 11th at 2PM
  • Japan: November 12th at 7AM

Can’t catch the presentation live? This post will be updated with the recording and the full press release on November 12th, once the presentation has aired!
