Have you been waiting for a Nintendo Direct since March, and were you expecting one to be announced any time soon? Most definitely. But were you expecting that presentation to be entirely focused on the Nintendo 3DS? Most likely not, and yet, that’s exactly what Nintendo announced today… a Nintendo 3DS Direct!
It’s not clear what Nintendo is going to showcase during this Nintendo 3DS Direct, but we can think of several titles: Picross 3D 2 (which was rated in Europe a few months ago), Mario Party: Star Rush (which doesn’t have a release date in Japan yet), and maybe even Ever Oasis (not releasing before 2017). We can probably expect the usual indie games, and maybe a couple of announcements too.
It’s pretty clear that this Nintendo Direct is there for Nintendo to take care of all the Nintendo 3DS “luggage” before revealing its NX platform later this year. Talking of the NX, Nintendo specified that the presentation would not cover either the NX or the upcoming mobile games (Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing).
Here’s when this Nintendo 3DS Direct presentation will take place:
