Nintendo Account: new features on the way
Today, a new version of the Nintendo Account Privacy Policy went live: you can check it out on this page. No action is required, so you don’t have to go and accept anything.
The reason the privacy policy was updated is to take into account some new features that are on the way, namely:
- in order to improve the security of the sign-in process, Nintendo are going to further integrate Google reCAPTCHA;
- Account Updater: a new feature that automatically updates credit card information (when it’s stored on the Nintendo eShop). Now, if your credit card expires or its number changes, the new information can be provided automatically by your bank at the time of purchase. Do note that this new feature may not be available to you: it depends on whether your bank supports it, as well as whether you’ve allowed your bank to make the changes in the first place;
- Play activity and recommendations shared among your group of friends: Nintendo will inform your friends of games you have played, and vice-versa. Of course, you will be able to control/restrict the sharing of play data via your Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Account settings.
