NBA 2K18: 2 Limited Editions announced

In the preview trailer for the Nintendo Switch shared in October, a mysterious basketball game was showcased. Several months later, during the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017, it was announced that NBA 2K18 would be released on the Nintendo Switch later this year.

And today, 2K Interactive announced that NBA 2K18 (developed by Visual Concepts) would be released on September 19th in North America, and would in fact get not one, but two Limited Editions. And since we’re writing about them here, that does mean that the Nintendo Switch version is indeed getting them both!

Here’s what each edition includes:

NBA 2K18 Legend Edition ($99.99)

  • the game;
  • Limited-edition Shaq poster;
  • 5 Panini trading cards;
  • Exclusive stickers;
  • 100,000 Virtual Currency;
  • 20 Weekly MyTEAM Packs;
  • Shaq in-game items;
  • and more…

NBA 2K18 Legend Edition Gold ($149.99) [at retail, a GameStop exclusive. In Europe: digital-only]

  • the game;
  • Limited-edition Shaq poster;
  • Lenticular;
  • 10 Panini trading cards;
  • Exclusive stickers;
  • 25,000 Virtual Currency;
  • 40 Weekly MyTEAM Packs;
  • Shaq in-game items;
  • and more…

Here’s the cover for both edition, which feature the one and only Shaquille O’Neal:

The press release specifies that both Limited Editions will be available at retail and on the Nintendo eShop. What’s more, players who buy them at participating retailers and online vendors (not guaranteed this includes the Nintendo eShop: we’ll update this post if necessary if we get more details) will receive “Early Tip-Off Access”, ensuring they get their copy of the game and the bonuses 4 days early (on September 15).

NBA 2K18 will be released on September 15th in Europe, and September 19th in North America. The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
