[N-Direct] Dragon Quest VII: free 3DS Theme, Dragon Quest VIII in Early 2017

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past (the Nintendo 3DS remake of the PlayStation 1 classic) is one of the games Nintendo showcased during today’s Nintendo 3DS Direct. Naturally, they didn’t reveal anything really new, though it was confirmed that online distributions would start right after launch.

Those distributions will allow players to get their hands on some traveller’s tablets, which can then be used to reach new dungeons. But be careful: some of those dungeons are much harder than the others… you have been warned!

Nintendo also revealed a special Nintendo 3DS Theme for Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. There are two ways to get it:

  • in Europe, you will get if you purchase the game from the Nintendo eShop, after launch;
  • in North America, you will get if you pre-order the game before September 16th (on the Nintendo eShop).

Here’s what this Nintendo 3DS Theme looks like:

Also, during the Nintendo Direct in Europe, it was confirmed that Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King was delayed to Early 2017. This release period wasn’t mentioned during the North American presentation, but there’s absolutely no doubt the game will also be released simultaneously like Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past will.

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past (3DS) comes out on September 16th in Europe and North America.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King (3DS) comes out in Early 2017 in Europe and North America.
