Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver.: details on Error 2203-0513

Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver. was released last week in Japan (on August 25th), and it’s mostly a bug-free experience for players… mostly. Indeed, many users are reporting game crashes, due to Error 220-0513. For some, those are pretty frequent, while others have been spared by those crashes. But it’s definitely a problem that needs to be fixed, as a game that crashes (and makes you lose progress) is never a good thing.

According to Nintendo Support (contacted by users who encountered Error 2203-0513 with Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver.), the problem actually comes from the Nintendo Switch itself, not the game. As a workaround, Nintendo recommends users disable the features that lets them search for nearby hunters to play with.

Apparently, the error seems to stem from the wireless specification of the Joy-Con and the Pro Controller. So if you still want to play with the search feature enabled, it’s recommended to play in Handheld Mode (with the Joy-Cons attached to the main unit).

It’s possible Nintendo will release a Firmware update in order to fix this particular issue, but we don’t know for sure just yet. In the mean time, make sure to use one of the workarounds mentioned above!
