Miitomo: over 5 million downloads on Android

Last month, Nintendo announced that Miitomo had more than 10 million users worldwide. Unfortunately, during the meeting with investors, the company didn’t provide any data about the app at all: actual number of downloads, revenue, DAU (Daily Active Users), MAU (Monthly Active Users), iOS/Android rundown, etc. all remain a mystery to all but Nintendo.

That being said, Tatsumi Kimishima did explain that the data available online (from companies like AppAnnie for example) was generally pretty close to reality, and that the app had performed more or less according to expectations.

And today, we found out that Miitomo had racked up over 5 million downloads on Android devices since launch (back in March). Unfortunately, the Play Store does not provide the actual number of downloads, but the app’s page did show “1 million+ downloads” until this week.

As usual, it’s impossible for us to know exactly how many users are still using the app (and if yes, how regularly), how many have stopped using it (and when), etc. We also don’t know how many downloads there has been on iOS devices so far, just that there are many more users on iOS than Android (by a wide margin).
