Mega Mall Story coming to the Nintendo Switch

Today, yet another game from Kairosoft (the developers of various popular simulation games, such as Game Dev Story) was announced for the Nintendo Switch: Mega Mall Story. As the title indicates, this one has you design and manage a “mega” mall: you have to choose which shops to open, where to build stairs and elevators, and more. It’s your very own mall, so it’s entirely up to you how to build and manage it!

Here’s the official description from the mobile version:

Design a towering mall of mega proportions! Attract droves of customers and elevate yourself to 5-star status in this mall management simulation game! Add anything from fast food joints to sushi restaurants, stairs and elevators–even a heliport–all with a touch of the finger! When your establishment’s popularity reaches a certain point, a “Fever” is triggered in which customers swamp your mall! You can then exercise your newfound affluence by investing in the surrounding area–bringing in even more customers and being a good citizen at the same time! Oh yeah! Keep your eyes on the mega-prize–only you can build the ultimate mall!

Based on the screenshots below, it’s pretty safe to assume Mega Mall Story on Nintendo Switch is based on the mobile version, just like the previous titles from Kairosoft on the platform. At this rate, it’s probably safe to assume that all Kairosoft games available on smart devices will eventually come to the Nintendo Switch.

Mega Mall Story will be released on January 17th in Japan (where it’s available for pre-purchase for 1 200 Yen). Based on previous Kairosoft releases, we can expect Europe and North America to get it on the same day or the following week. If it doesn’t, you will always be able to buy it on the Japanese Nintendo eShop, since the Japanese version includes English as a language option (if you really cannot wait!).
