Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics will be released on March 18th in NA

Mario Sonic OlympicsA few minutes ago, Nintendo of America announced that Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics would be released on March 18th in North America. But there’s a catch: even though both a Wii U and Nintendo 3DS were announced at the same time, today’s announcement only applies to the Nintendo 3DS version.

Unfortunately, Nintendo didn’t give any additional details about the game, let alone a trailer and/or some screenshots. On Facebook, Nintendo clarified that the Wii U version would be released “later this year”.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics (3DS) comes out on February 18th in Japan, March 18th in North America, and later this year in Europe. The Wii U version should follow at a later date.
