Layton’s Mystery Adventure releasing this Fall in Europe and North America
Last week, we finally got some news about Layton’s Mystery Adventure: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy (previously know as Lady Layton and the Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy). Besides the new title, it was announced that the Nintendo 3DS version would launch on July 20th in Japan.
This left fans in Europe and North America wondering about the western release (which was previously confirmed via a press release, following the Level-5 Vision 2016). The smartphone version will be released on July 20th worldwide, but unfortunately, the Nintendo 3DS version will come at a later date outside Japan.
Today, Level-5 sent a press release to make some clarifications regarding the western launch of Layton’s Mystery Adventure: Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy. First of all, the company confirmed that the Nintendo 3DS version would indeed get a western release. Second, that release will take place sometime in early Fall, with the exact date to be announced later this year.
Quite interestingly, the game will not be published by Nintendo outside Japan (most likely because of the smartphone release). Instead, it’s LEVEL-5 abby (already dealing with the Yo-kai Watch series outside Japan) that will publish it. The game will be playable in the following languages: Japanese, English, French, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, German, and even Korean.
In this game, you get to play as Katrielle Layton, who searches for her missing father Professor Hershel Layton. As usual, you will get to meet various characters, such as Sherl (your talking dog), Emiliana Perfetti, Ernest Greeves, and more. Unlike previous entries, Layton’s Mystery Adventure has a new, TV series-like structure, meant to appeal to both existing fans and new comers.

This is the seventh entry in the Professor Layton series and we are excited that Katrielle Layton is taking center stage in this new iteration of the game. Professor Layton fans will enjoy the mystery and fantasy adventure play that they have come to love and appreciate throughout the series.
