Kirby: Planet Robobot – More concept-art, soundtrack samples, more

Today, Nintendo once again updated the official website for Kirby: Planet Robobot in Japan, sharing more concept-art and details about the game. In her latest report, Susie focuses on “gimmicks” and some tracks from the original soundtrack.

First, we have some concept-art for some “gimmick”: special elements from the Kirby: Planet Robobot levels:

Next, we get some details about two tracks from the game, and the various segments of each tracks are shared (click here to check them out):

  • with the first one (the main theme of the Haltmann Works Company), after the Director listened to the first demo track, the composer was asked to change it, so that it would be fitting for an evil company… but it looks he may have overdone it a bit with the second part, which was a tad too “heavy”! From there, he changed the track and gave it a “unknown invader” feel… and that’s it!
  • with the second one, the main theme was “beings found in the galaxy, beyond mankind’s reach”. For the second part, the track was modified to give it a “countdown” feel (with some mechanical sounds). Finally, the composer received a difficulty order: he had to make the track “hotter” (which he did by adding electric guitar), then have the song “quiet down”… and then loop back to the beginning.

By the way, in one of the tracks used during a boss battle, you can hear noises from animals… it’s actually the pet of some HAL Laboratory employees (the cat is named “Tom”, and the chicken is named “Nago”).

The next report from Susie will be the last one… for real this time!
