Japan: SNES and FE Fates New 3DS XL models now available for pre-order, July release

During the latest Nintendo Direct presentation for Japan, Nintendo announced that two new models of New Nintendo 3DS XL would be released in Japan. Their design is based on the Super Famicom (SNES in the West) and Fire Emblem Fates. The first one is exclusive to Japan (so far!), while the second one is already available in North America (and will be released next month in Europe).

It was initially announced that the two models would become available sometime in April, but it turns out they will be more limited than expected. Indeed, to get them, you need to place an order via Nintendo’s website before April 27th (11.59AM JST); the console will then be delivered sometime in July. This implies that those two models will not be available for purchase anywhere else (tough it does look like Play-Asia will get a very limited amount of them)
