Japan: Famitsu sales for July 2016 (Top 30 Retail + Digital)
In its latest issue, Famitsu is providing sales data for July 2016 (June 27th – July 31st to be more precise), which include digital sales (from the Nintendo eShop, PSN, etc.).
NB: the digital sales are estimations, and not 100% accurate.
In July 2016, Yo-kai Watch 3: Sushi / Tempura was the best-seller, which will surprise no one. Despite severely underperforming, it did manage to sell over 800 000 units, which is almost as much as all the other titles in the Top 30… that does show how weak the market is overall, and it’s nothing new.
In fact, Yo-kai Watch 3 was the only title that managed to sell over 100 000 units, along with Puzzle & Dragons X (which also severely underperformed compared to its predecessors). On the other hand, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns has been performing pretty well, with 70 932 units sold (not counting those sold between June 23rd and June 27th).
The Pokémon games on Virtual Console have also been selling well, with 63 782 additional units sold at retail. As for Minecraft, it missed the Top 10 by just a hair… or rather, less than 2 000 units.
