Genei Ibun Roku #FE: new character trailers, details, video and screens

Today is Friday, which means it’s time for the latest official website update for Genei Ibun Roku #FE! Thsi time around, we get more than just new characters: Nintendo also updated the World section, and opened the System one. There’s even some brand new details, a video and screenshots for us to discover!

Character trailers

Let’s start right away with the two character trailers, which are for:

• Minamoto Mamori (voiced by Kaori Fukuhara): an elementary school girl from the same talent agency as the protagonists. She’s a talent and Mirage Master, and she loves music and kimonos from the Showa period. Her Mirage is Draug (from Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon).

• Barry Goodman (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura): a popular artist who came to Japan in search of Otaku culture, after retiring. He’s working as a trainer for the protagonists, and is one of the playable characters in the game.

Performa

Next, we have some details about the game’s World, and more precisely Performa. The website explains that everyone in the world has strong feelings deep into their hearts, such as “I want to fulfill a wish” or “I want to shine”. Some gifted individuals, and more precisely Mirage and Mirage Master, are able to feel that “energy”.

Those who work in entertainment, such as actors and singers, are said to be the best at expressing that hidden power. It’s most likely for that very reason that all the playable characters just happen to work in entertainment, and why music plays such a central role in the game.

We also learn that the enemy Mirages come from another world, completely devoid of such energy, and so they came to this world in order to steal it from humans. But… for what purpose? Unfortunately, the website doesn’t tell us that, so we will have to wait a bit before we find out.

Gameplay systems

The System section of the official website was opened, giving us new details about some of the gameplay features of Genei Ibun Roku #FE. The first one is about Topic: this refers to the instant messaging system you get to use in the game, and which allows you to get real-time messages from the other characters in the game.

Those messages allow you to progress through the main story, but also trigger some sidequests (so you can deepen your bond with the other characters) by sending a reply. For the main story, you can get various hints from those instant messages. When messaging individual characters, you can learn more about them. But Topic isn’t all about mesages: it also has a very handy map, so you can easily find your way.

Just like pretty much all RPGs, Genei Ibun Roku #FE will have shops:

• Hee-Haw Mart (convenience store): you will find various items there, which will prove very useful in your fight against enemy Mirages.
• Karavia Jewelry: you can purchase various accessories there, in order to enhance the abilities of your characters.
• Anzu Store Tokyo: a special shop where you can purchase costumes for your characters.

Genei Ibun Roku #FE (Wii U) comes out on December 26th in Japan, and next year in Europe and North America.
