Fire Emblem Heroes: notice about the issue with the A Sketchy Summer Summoning Focus

Today, a new Summoning Focus for Fire Emblem Heroes went live: A Sketchy Summer (check out this post for more details). Unfortunately, there was an issue with it earlier today, but the good news is that it didn’t last very long, and so not many players were impacted.

Indeed, the issue occured between 12AM PT / 3AM ET / 8AM BST / 9AM CEST / 4PM JST and 12.10AM PT / 3.10AM ET / 8.10AM BST / 9.10AM CEST / 4.10PM JST (so a grand total of… 10 minutes).

Here’s what happened: players who were still on Ver. 2.6.1 were able to summon from the Summoning Focus despite the summoning banner not being displayed. Some of them even managed to summon a 5 ★ Focus unit, but did not receive it (they were displayed as an X-mark).

The problem is that players running Ver. 2.6.1 were not supposed to keep using that version: there should have been a mandatory update for all players in time for the Summoning Focus, but there wasn’t, so some players were not forced to update and kept using Ver. 2.6.1 instead. As of 12.10AM PT / 3.10AM ET / 8.10AM BST / 9.10AM CEST / 4.10PM JST., it’s no longer possible to use an outdated version of the game.

If you’re among the few players impacted by this rather unusual issue, you have nothing to worry about: the developers are currently investigating players who have been impacted by it, in order to ‘promptly compensate’ them with the Heroes they did summon but didn’t receive. In other words, you will receive your unit!

Also, all players (including those not directly impacted by the issue) will receive some bonus Orbs at a later date, to thank them for their patience.
