Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is the 5th entry in the Fatal Frame / Project Zero series, and it came out last year in Europe and North America. Unfortunately, there was no retail release in the United States and Canada (unlike Europe, which got a Limited Edition). But it looks like there might be one in the end, courtesy of Limited Run Games.
For those who don’t know, Limited Run Games is a company publishing limited run of games available only on digital platforms (mostly indies) at retail. And it looks like they’ve been trying to get permission from Nintendo to release a limited run of Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water at retail, in North America.
When asked by a fan if they were planning to release something on Wii U in the future, Limited Run Games replied that they were “trying to work towards a Fatal Frame 5 release”.
@Grimsie42 We're trying to work towards a Fatal Frame 5 release. :)

Unfortunately, we don’t know if there’s any real chance of a retail release happening, but it certainly wouldn’t be unheard of. After all, Nintendo did have XSEED publish both The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower on Wii. The best thing to do right now is to let @LimitedRunGames and @NintendoAmerica know you’d like a retail release for Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water.
Thanks Pyrofrost for the heads up.
