And yet another localisation announcement, one! This time, it’s Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight, which is coming out this Summer in North America. For those who don’t know, it’s a 3DS remake of Etrian Odyssey 2: The Heroes of Lagaard, and just like the first one, it includes a brand new story mode. In this one, you play as young man chosen as the Fafnir Knight, sworn to protect Princess Arianna of Caledonia (his childhood friend).
Of course, the game will include a Classic Mode, which is exactly the same as Etrian Odyssey 2: The Heroes of Lagaard, but with the new dungeon layouts, new graphics, and system improvements from the recent Etrian Odyssey Untold (which came out last year). You can create your own party (that can be customised at will), and you won’t have to watch any cutscenes.
The Story mode includes fixed party, voiced dialogues, and animated cutscenes. You’ll follow the adventures of Princess Arianna, the Fafnir Knight, Flavio (another hero of the Midgard Library), Bertrand and Chloe (two adventurers).They all meet in the Ginnungagap ruins, then go on to explore the Yggdrasil Labyrinth and its secrets. In the end, they’ll discover the origins of the Fafnir Knight and its powers.
Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight includes several features:
– Improved systems and mapping, making it the most accessible Etrian Odyssey game ever;
– Story mode and Classic mode;
– Several difficulty modes: normal, Picnic Expert, etc.
