Elminage is a series of dungeon-crawlers developed by Starfish SD, and inspired by the Wizardry series. There’s already been several entries on Nintendo 3DS, and one of them is apparently headed west: Elminage Original (released in Japan on December 14th, last year), courtesy of Rising Star Games.

Here’s what the story is about:

The five rings that protect the world have been scattered after five sorceresses attempted to release the Demon King. They who can find the five rings and restore the barrier on the Dragon’s Fang shall be richly rewarded.Today, many adventurers pass through the gates of Trangelda, their true motives hidden within their hearts.

Elminage Original is described as an atmospheric dungeon RPG, where you need to assemble of band of adventurers in order to go conquer dungeons, and recover the five rings mentioned in the story synospsis. Said dungeons are found within temples, caverns, and forests, with the exact locations randomly selected when you start the game.

As you can imagine, the dungeons are infested with hordes of monsters, including some huge ones that cannot even fit on the screen. The deeper you head into the dungeons, the tougher enemies become. To find the rings, you can complete events, which nets you some Fame. That Fame can then be infused into a compass, that allows you to track where the rings are hidden.

The game lets you choose between 16 different classes for your adventurers, such as fighters, mages, samurai, or servant classes. There’s also several other parameters that can be used to further customise your characters: races (9 in total), gender, age, nature, and more. Finally, there’s 72 different spelss to learn, divided in three main lines: mage, cleric, and alchemy.

Finally, here’s some screenshots for the game:

Elminage Original (3DS) doesn’t have a release date yet in Europe and North America. The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
