Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past video series – Discover the Story

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is the Nintendo 3DS remake of the PS1 classic. Released back in 2013 in Japan, it’s finally available in Europe and North America.

Today, Nintendo of America uploaded the 9th episode of their video series for Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. This one is all about the Story, which is the central element of pretty much any RPG worth its salt.

Just like other Dragon Quest games, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past features quite a lot of sidequests. But naturally, there’s also an over-arching story for you to discover. It all starts on a lone island, which is the only known land in a world of oceans. You play as the son of a fisherman, and one day, you decide to go explore the Shrine of Mysteries with your best friend.

With the help of an hermit, you actually manage to open the doors to ruin, where you meet the curator of the place. He tasks you with finding 4 pieces of amour, which holds the power to unlock the Assembly Room inside the Shrine of mysteries. But in order to wield its power, you first need to acquire the tablet fragments scattered across your island.

When you do, Prince Keifler (your best friend) and Maribel (a sheadstrong woman) join your party. Together, you go put the fragments in the pedestal inside the Shrine of Mysteries, and this opens a portal to the distant past. During your adventure, you will get to travel across time, discover new areas, and expand the world. Naturally, you will also uncover the secret forces that fragments the world in the first place!
