Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past video series – Discover Monster Meadows

Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is the Nintendo 3DS remake of the PS1 classic. Released back in 2013 in Japan, it’s finally about to come out in Europe and North America: there’s now just a couple of days left to wait!

Yesterday, Nintendo of America uploaded the sixth episode of their video series for Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. This one is all about Monster Meadows, which we already covered in our post about the opening of the official website (click here for more details).

Monster Meadows is the place where tamed monsters can live peacefully, in a somewhat natural habitat. It’s located in a place lost in time, that can be accessed from a portal found in the Haven. But before monsters can live in there, you have to tame them. How do you that? It’s easy: with some Monster Munchies!

Thanks to that special snack, you can tame monsters found in battle. Obviously, there’s no guarantee you will manage to tame one, but thanks to the Big Book of Beasts, you can find out how easy (or hard) taming a particular monster is.

If you’re having trouble taming a monster, you can use the the Monster Masher vocation. It has a passive effect which makes it easier to tame monsters… pretty handy!

Back to Monster Meadows proper: you can expand it by building habitat for the various monsters using blueprints (found during your adventure). After a while, Monster Meadows will expand, and include new areas.

Also, don’t forget to talk to the old man in Monster Meadows: if you do, you can send some monsters in cave, for them to go grab some traveller’s tablets (who give acess to randomly generated dungeons). You can share those tablets with other players by sending the leader of your monster party via StreetPass.
