How to download updates for Dragon Marked for Death for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Dragon Marked for Death, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title. Alternatively, you can launch the game and check the Title Screen: the version number is displayed in the top right corner.

  • An issue with the quest “Werewolf Hunting” where the boss “Lycanthrope” could become invisible in multiplayer has been fixed.
  • An issue with the quest ”Werewolf Hunting” where effects from the boss could persist in multiplayer has been fixed.
  • An issue with the quest “Werewolf Hunting” where status increasing effects would be momentarily nullified in multiplayer has been fixed.
  • Adjusted the attributes on the “Steel Bracer” from +5 to +3 to achieve better balance among character-specific equipment.

【System Changes】

  • A second save slot has been added.
    → After selecting “NEW GAME” or “LOAD GAME” on the title screen, select “CONTRACT 1” or “CONTRACT 2” to begin the game on the chosen save slot.
  • Added the ability to change the player character’s dragon contract.
    → In Atruum’s den, choose “Enter a contract” to offer a piece of Dragonite to alter the character’s dragon contract.
  • The black market in the Medius city slums is now open.
  • When preparing a multiplayer party, players will now be asked for confirmation if a party member leaves after choosing “Depart.”
  • When changing equipment, affected stats will now be displayed blue when increasing and red when decreasing.
  • The timing of videos playing from the title screen has been adjusted to match with the title music.

【Character Changes】

  • The level cap has been raised to 60.
  • The Empress can now enter a Wind contract with the following conditions.
    → Dragon Skills are Wind element.
    → Dragon Shot and Dragon Cannon consume more DP.
    → Dragon Shot and Dragon Cannon trajectory and number of projectiles are changed, increasing attack power.
    ※The above is in comparison to the standard Fire contract.
  • The Warrior can now enter a Thunder contract with the following conditions.
    → Dragon Tackle and Dragon Smash are Thunder element.
    → Dragon Tackle and Dragon Smash start up faster.
    → Dragon Tackle and Dragon Smash are slightly less powerful.
    → Dragon Guard requires more DP to initiate.
    → Berserk consumes less DP.
    → Berserk gives a smaller increase to attack power.
    ※The above is in comparison to the standard Ice contract.
  • The interval between heals in the Warrior’s Dragon Guard has been shortened.
  • The recovery on several of the Warrior’s grounded attacks, such as “Tackle”, can now be canceled.
  • The Warrior’s Dragon Tackle has been changed from an elementless physical attack to an elemental attack based on his dragon contract and PIE.
  • Damage on the Warrior’s Dragon Smash has been increased.
  • Information on the Dragon Tackle has been added to “Control Help” in the menu.
  • The Shinobi can now enter a Fire contract with the following conditions.
    → Dragon Skills are Fire element.
    → Dragon Dash consumes more DP.
    → Dragon Kick and homing shuriken consume more DP and do more damage.
    → Number of homing shuriken thrown at once is reduced.
    → Duration of lock-on is increased.
    → Dragon Dash can only be used airborne once before landing.
    ※The above is in comparison to the standard Poison contract.
  • The Shinobi’s attacks now generate more aggro.
  • Information on the Dragon Kick has been added to “Control Help” in the menu.
  • The Witch can now enter an Ice contract with the following conditions.
    → When using power up on Ice magic, power will be increased by 2 levels.
    → Ice magic will consume less DP in Dragon Surge.
    → Ice magic can be stored for a longer time.
    → Non-Ice magic storage time is reduced.
    → DP gained by hitting enemies with Ice magic is increased.
    ※The above is in comparison to the standard Poison contract.
  • The following changes to Witch will apply when under the default Poison contract.
    → When using power up on Heal magic, power will be increased by 2 levels.
    → Heal magic will consume less DP in Dragon Surge.
    → Heal magic can be stored for a longer time.
    → Non-Heal magic storage time is reduced.
  • HP recovered by the Witch’s Heal spell levels 2 and 3 has been increased.
  • The method by which the Witch’s Heal spell with Condense property heals over intervals has been changed.
    → With this change, overlapping Condense Heal spells will properly stack heals in the overlapping area.
  • The graphic effect of the Witch’s Wind magic has been changed.
  • Information on the Witch’s Owl has been added to “Control Help” in the menu.

【Equipment Changes】

  • Level 51-60 weapons and accessories have been added and can be found in chests in quests in the DLC scenario “The Dragonblood Bandit”.
  • Level 10-48 weapons, accessories, and consumables have been added for trade in the Black Market.
  • The following items have had attributes adjusted:

【Enemy Changes】

  • Enemies now drop items that can be traded at the Black Market.
  • The attack range of the Bombud’s poison cloud has been adjusted.
  • The color of the enemy Skulleton has been adjusted to increase visibility.

【Quest Changes】

  • DLC Scenario “The Dragonblood Bandit” is now available
    → For players who have purchased the additional quest DLC, new quests are available from the NPC Lacel in the Medius slums: Level 20 quest “Eastern Treasures” and Level 35 quest “Infernal Labyrinth.”
  • For every quest with “Kill them all!” enemy rush areas, a marker will be displayed indicating where enemies are about to appear.
  • The time limit has been increased for quests after the first clear.
  • The time limit for the quest “The Ogre Fort” has been adjusted.
  • When destroying pots, the contents and appearance rate of the contents have been adjusted.
  • The movement speed of escort targets has been increased.
  • Asura Bats appearing in the “Kill them all!” area on the quest “Calamity’s Portent” have been made larger.
  • Some terrain on the maps “Muramasa Castle” and “Asura’s Gate” has been changed.

【Bug Fixes】

  • Fixed an issue where quest progress was not properly deleted when deleting a character in the inn.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur when casting Ice magic.
  • Fixed a rare crash that could occur when the boss Equus used an ice attack.
  • Fixed an issue that caused “Resist instant death” to activate on 26% HP and up instead of 25% HP and up.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the small spiders released by the Void Spider enemy to generate DP when self-destructing.
  • Fixed an issue with terrain collision when interacting with switches and other objects.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to clip through the terrain on the quest “Brother and Sister”.

  • Fixed an issue causing sync errors in multiplayer when fighting the boss “Twin Dragon”.

  • Other sound, visual, and behavior issues have also been fixed.

【Known Issues】

  • When playing the quest “Werewolf Hunting” in multiplayer, the boss can become transparent.
  • When playing the quest “Werewolf Hunting” in multiplayer, boss effects can remain stuck on screen.
  • The VIT on the accessory “Steel Bracer” should be +5 instead of +3.

  • An issue that was causing the game to crash when both destructible and indestructible objects were hit by elemental magic spells and magic weapons in certain Level 51+ quests has been fixed.
  • An issue that was causing the current version of the game to crash during the final boss fight has been fixed.
  • An issue that was causing the game to crash on rare occasions when enemies were hit by the Empress’s Dragon Shot and Dragon Cannon, the Shinobi’s shuriken, or the Witch’s magic has been fixed.
  • An issue that was causing the game to crash on rare occasions when enemies were hit by the Shinobi’s lock-on attacks has been fixed.
  • An issue that was causing the game to crash on rare occasions when changing equipment inside a shop in town has been fixed.

【Known Issues】

・Equipping the Striker Pack DLC weapon “Grimoire” on the Witch and performing some actions, such as jumping, will cause the game to crash.

Also, loading the game as the Witch with the “Grimoire” equipped will also cause the game to crash.

Please follow the steps below if you are experiencing this issue:

①After starting the game, do not move the character, and open the menu.
②Select “Shortcuts” from the menu and enter a building.
③Inside the building, equip the Witch with a magic tome other than “Grimoire”.

We are working on a patch to fix this issue as soon as possible. We will announce the date for this patch as soon as it is decided.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused by this issue.

【System】

・The amount of experience points awarded for completing a quest has been changed.
→ When this update, the amount of experience points earned for completing quests has decreased.

・The amount of experience points earned by defeating enemies during quests has changed.
→When this update, the amount of experience points earned has increased、therefore increasing the overall amount of experience earned when failing a quest.

・When using the Shortcuts menu in town to move to a location, you will now be placed directly inside the building instead of outside it.

・The menu can now be opened in town while the game is auto-saving.

・Accessories can now be equipped/unequipped during quests by selecting “Check Equipment” on the menu screen.

・Messages that explain what each facility does now display when a character enters the capital city of Medius for the first time.

・Equipment can now be changed at the Bar when selecting a quest in single player mode.

・”Hunt for named monsters” has been added to the lists of requests available for multiplayer games.

・Players can now still use chat features in online multiplayer lobbies even after confirming that they are ready to depart.

・Players can now choose any difficulty level for a quest in online open matches, even if they have not previously unlocked that difficulty level.

・Bonus stat points that were left unallocated during a quest result screen due to a connection failure can now be allocated by choosing the “reset bonus points” option at Atruum’s Den.

・The negative status effect “burn” now lasts longer.

・The negative status effect “poison” now lasts as long for enemies in multiplayer as it does for single player.

・The negative status effect “frostbite” now reduces an enemy’s AGI stat instead of restricting their movement.

・Enemies can now be knocked back in the air even after being launched into an airborne state.

・A sound effect now plays when receiving a Dragonite item during a conversation in town.

・Animated trailer version A and version B have been added to the game.
→ These are unlocked once certain conditions are met, and will play from the Title Screen after a period of inactivity.

【Characters】

・The amount of DP awarded to allies when your character recovers DP in multiplayer has been reduced.

・After taking damage in mid-air, players will now be able to move after a certain period of time.

・Each character’s movement speed has been adjusted, reducing the difference in speed between the characters.

・The balance of physical attack power between the Empress, Warrior, and Shinobi has been adjusted.

・Knockback has been added to the Empress’s airborne Dragon Sword

・The attack range for the third slash in the Empress’s sword combo has been increased.

・Physical damage has been increased on a portion of the Empress’s attacks

・DP recovery has been increased on a portion of the Empress’s attacks

・The Empress’s grounded Dragon Sword can now be cancelled into Dragon Shot

・The recovery on the Empress’s airborne Dragon Sword can now be cancelled into Dragon Shot or a sword attack

・The Empress’s mid-air Dragon Sword attack speed has been increased.

・The Empress’s Dragon Cannon now takes less time to activate, fire, and stop firing.

・The Empress’s Dragon Cannon now has the same firing range as the Dragon Shot.

・DP recovery has been increased on a portion of the Warrior’s attacks

・The Warrior’s Dragon Guard now requires less DP to activate.

・The Warrior’s Dragon Guard now requires more DP to maintain.

・The Warrior’s Dragon Tackle and Dragon Smash now require less DP to use.

・The Shinobi’s Dragon Skill attack power has been decreased.

・The Shinobi’s mid-air attack power and DP recovery amounts have been decreased

・The Shinobi’s Dragon Kick attack can now poison enemies.

・Enemies and bosses over Level 50 will get increased magic resistance if magic attacks with the same elemental properties are used in succession.

【Equipment】

・The equipment effect of “+XX% dmg. to Lv.YY enemies” has been changed
→ In accordance with this change, it will now read “+XX% physical damage to Lv. YY+ enemies.”
Old version: Equipped characters would have all damage increased by XX% to enemies over Level YY.
New version: Equipped characters will have physical damage increased by XX% to enemies over Level YY.

・New equipment effect, “+XX% M.dmg. to Lv.YY+ enemies” has been added.

・Equipment effects “+XX% dmg. to primal enemies”, “+XX% dmg. to Deva enemies”, and “+XX% dmg. to Asura enemies” have been changed.
→ In accordance with this change, it will now read “+XX% P.dmg. to ‘primal’ enemies”

Old version: Equipped characters would have all damage increased by XX% to ‘primal’ enemies.
New version: Equipped characters will have physical damage increased by XX% to ‘primal’ enemies.

・New equipment effects “+XX% M.dmg. to primal enemies”, “+XX% M.dmg. to Deva enemies”, and “+XX% M.dmg. to Asura enemies” have been added.

・Activation conditions of equipment effect “Resist instant death” have been changed
→ When the player is at low health and the character sprite appears tired, the effect will no longer activate.

Old version: As long as the player had 2 or more HP, an attack that would reduce their HP to 0 would instead bring them to 1 HP.
New version: If the player is above 25% HP, an attack that would reduce their HP to 0 will instead bring them to 1 HP.

・Named Monsters (NM) have been added
→ It is recommended to have a full, high level party for this content.
→ To complete these fights at the current level cap, rare equipment will be necessary.

・The positions where enemies appear during “Kill them all!” fights have been changed.

・As there was an area that the boss Vasith’s attacks would not reach, Vasith’s attack area has been adjusted.

【Quests】

・The single player tutorial quest “The Doomed Clan” can now be selected.

・The quest “Marked For Death” can now be played at difficulty level 65.

・To accommodate the addition of Named Monsters, parts of certain maps have been changed.

・The lowest difficulty level for the ” Dreaming of Treasure ” quest has been reduced from 5 to 3.

・The placement of treasure chests when playing “The Doomed Clan” tutorial quest as the Warrior has changed.

・Except for certain quests, boss’s levels have been changed to be 5 to 6 levels above the quest level.

・Fixed an issue where the game would close with an error when starting on a Switch with the language set to Chinese (Traditional) or Korean.

・Fixed an issue where the portrait for Ordo would not display correctly.

  • Species type for the bosses Twin Dragon and Jinryuu have been corrected.
  • A bug where equipment effects of the type “X% dmg. to Lv.Y enemies” were not properly applied has been fixed.
  • A bug where the equipment effect “Night Vision” was not properly applied has been fixed.
  • A bug where the equipment effect “Movement speed +X%” was not properly applied has been fixed.
  • A bug where the equipment effect “Jump Distance +X%” was not properly applied has been fixed.
  • A bug where the equipment effect “Aggro +X%” was not properly applied has been fixed.
  • A bug where the equipment effect “Aggro -X%” was not properly applied has been fixed.

Known Bugs

– Japanese voices can now be selected and assigned during character creation.
– You can now reallocate your bonus stat points by using a “Dragonite” item.
– Character levels are now displayed on the character select screen, with unused characters being marked as “NEW”.
– The durability of Dragon Spheres has been adjusted.
– Detailed information about items obtained on quests can now be viewed on the Quest Results screen.
– When your character levels up, information about what each stat parameter does will be visible.


【Multiplayer】


– Players can now change their equipment and more while waiting in the matchmaking lobby. Therefore, changes to the user interface and how that information is displayed have been changed.
– Pre-set chat commands have been changed.
– If a connection error occurs during a multiplayer game, the player will have the option of continuing the quest in solo mode.
– After finishing a quest in multiplayer, players will no longer have to wait for everyone to finish before being able to return to the matchmaking lobby.
– Abandoning a quest midway through will require agreement from other party members.
– Search conditions for Open Matching in online multiplayer games have been changed.
– Parties will no longer be automatically disbanded after completing a quest in online multiplayer.
– Improved overall connection stability in online multiplayer modes.


【Playable Characters】


– Playable characters will now look tired with their health is low.
– Attack power stats for all playable characters have been adjusted.
– The rate of recovery for each playable character’s Dragon Points has been adjusted.
– The amount that Dragon Skill attack power increases by raising the PIE stat has been adjusted.
– The power of the Warrior’s Dragon Guard and the amount of HP the Witch’s recovery magic can heal are now based on the PIE stat.
– The attack power of the 4th slash in the Empress’s combo attack and her jump attack have been adjusted. Additionally, the number of attacks she can do has also been adjusted.
