Nintendo Movie

In the past, we’ve often heard of potential movies based on Nintendo IPs, let it be rumours of projects in the works or simply creators expressing their interest in making one. During the Franchise Fever: Pursuing Ideas and Big Audiences panel at DICE 2016, Roy Lee (Vertigo Entertainment, President) explained that his dream movie project would be a Nintendo movie:

“Mine would be Nintendo. I think Zelda, Mario, and the whole universe of characters would be perfect for a Lego Movie type of [film]. I don’t have the rights to it, but I would love to. That would be my Holy Grail.”

For Adrian Askarieh (CEO and president Prime Universe Films), “Nintendo’s universe is primed for cinematic success, and Nintendo just needs to find people that can execute on it.”
