Today’s Daily Briefs: IGN article about the history of Tantalus, but also…

- Nintendo Land
- Kobito Game Taisen
Tantalus
Tantalus is a studio many people had never heard of before Nintendo announced they were the ones behind The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on Wii U. And yet, they’ve been around for quite a while, since 1994 to be more precise! In fact, their sister company is Straight Right, who developed the Wii U ports of Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Yesterday, IGN published a pretty interesting article about the history of Tantalus Media, from their very beginning to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD. It features an interview of Tom Crago (CEO), who talks at greath lengths about the company. Click here to check it out!
Hive Jump
Last week, Graphite Lab published the latest Kickstarter udpate for Hive Jump. This one includes some tidbits about the Wii U version! Now that the game base is solid, they hired a new programmer (Robert Santos), who is going to work on the Wii U exclusive features.
Here’s what they had to say about that:
Another note of thanks for your patience to all of our Wii U backers! We’ve recruited a new programmer to our team specifically to get Wii U features worked in now that the game base is solid! Robert Santos (@robmsantos) is a game developer, game designer, and entrepreneur with experience encompassing a variety of disciplines. We’ve worked with Rob on a variety of projects and are STOKED to have him moving the Wii U forward! This will allow us to continue work on core systems while Rob works on Wii U exclusive features! HOORAH!

Nintendo Minute
Here’s the latest episode of Nintendo Minute, which is about the Pokémon World Championships 2016:
Hi, we took a little fieldtrip to the Pokémon World Championships last weekend! It was both our first times going and it was so much fun. There were a ton of trainers from all over the world competing to be the very best and for the first time, Pokkén Tournament was also included. There was even a Pokémon Center selling a whole bunch of goodies. We couldn’t help get some stuff for ourselves. We hope you enjoy this video. Have a nice weekend!

River City: Tokyo Rumble
Yesterday, Natsume shared some additional screenshots for River City: Tokyo Rumble:

Nintendo Land
Heads up for those of you living in North America (or those who imported a North American Wii U): Nintendo Land is back on the Nintendo eShop! It was removed a couple of years ago, but it’s finally available for download once again. Unfortunately, Nintendo never explained why it was removed in the first place!
Thanks maxcriden for the heads up!
Kobito Game Taisen
Here’s a trailer for Kobito Game Taisen, releasing on October 6th in Japan:
