Daemon X Machina (Kenichiro Tsukuda, mech action) announced for the Nintendo Switch

Everyone was expecting Nintendo to start their Nintendo Direct: E3 2018 presentation with Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo (now known as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate), but it turns out that they began with something completely unexcited. A brand new IP: Daemon x Machina, an intense mech action game with some pretty high-profile developers working on it.

Here’s the debut trailer for Daemon X Machina:

The game is being developed by one Kenichiro Tsukuda (and his team, at Marvelous), that fans of the Armored Core series know pretty well. It allows you to pilot the Arsenal: a fully customisable powered suit, in order to tackle various missions.

Your mission? Defeat the enemy at all costs! To do so, you can choose between many different weapons, that you can get from downed enemy Arsenals. In fact, you can swap them on the fly, in order to adapt your strategy to the ever-changing threats you’re faced with.

Here’s the list of key features:

  • Kenichiro Tsukuda is well known for his work developing the Armored Core series. He and his talented team have developed this brand-new title with the goal of making it “the best mech action game” out there.
  • The character designs were created by Yusuke Kozaki, who also worked on the Fire Emblem Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates games.
  • Mech concept designs were created by Mr. Kawamori, who also worked on the Armored Core series and the Super Dimension Fortress Macross series.
  • Arsenals can battle freely in the air and on the ground.

Finally, here’s some screenshots:
