Azure Striker Gunvolt: over 100 000 downloads, EU release coming soon

Looks like Inti Creates’ very first independent project is going quite well! This morning, the official Twitter account for Azure Striker Gunvolt announced that the game had been downloaded over 100 000 times in Japan and North America. That’s a very good performance for a brand new IP, which explains why the company was so quick to confirm a sequel was in the works (even though it’s still at the concept phase).

Here’s a cool little artwork Inti Create made to celebrate this milestone:

Unfortunately, none of these 100 000 downloads were done from European or Australian 3DS consoles, as the game still isn’t available in Europe/Australia/New-Zealand. But Inti Creates has good news for fans in those territories: the game has now been rated by all the necessary agencies (PEGI for Europe, USK for Germany and Australian Classification Board for Australia/New Zealand)., which means that a release date should be announced pretty soon.

Inti Creates apologises for the delay (the game was supposed to come out in November in Europe/Australia/New Zealand), and explains that localising the game for those regions was quite the undertaking. The company had to translate everything in 5 languages (which took a lot of time), on top of getting the game rated by the necessary agencies. The good news is: everything is almost complete, and the wait almost over.
