Gameplay Adjustments
  • Weapon Balance: Balanced various weapons, with special attention to the Gauntlets and Hammer. Adjustments aim to improve effectiveness and ensure each weapon feels distinct and powerful.
  • Construct Companions Enhancement: Adjusted Construct Companions to hit harder and exhibit more aggressive behavior in combat.
  • Boss Balance Rework: Several bosses have been reworked to provide a more challenging experience, aligning their difficulty better with regular enemies.
  • Improved Block Responsiveness: The responsiveness of the block action has been enhanced, making parries more accurate and timing-dependent.
  • Boss Attack Fixes: Fixed issues where some boss attacks could be interrupted unexpectedly, causing behavioral inconsistencies.
  • Block Drop Construct Adjustments: Increased cooldown and adjusted damage values for the Block Drop construct. Now rewards skilled players with a 1.5x damage multiplier when used with a combo of 10 or higher.
  • Aerial Combat Adjustments: Melee enemies will no longer throw projectiles while the player is performing aerial attacks, eliminating unfair interruptions.

    • Healing Crystal
    • Health Crystal Boost Lv 1, Lv 2, and Lv 3
  • New Awakening Tutorial: Added a reinforced tutorial for the Awakening mechanic to provide clearer guidance and understanding for players.

  • Combat Music Intensity: Adjusted the intensity of combat music to change more gradually based on the number of hits performed in combat, providing a smoother and more natural transition.

Community Feedback Implementation
  • Hammer Rune Ability: Adjusted the hammer’s rune ability to be more effective and responsive, ensuring it hits enemies more reliably and faces their direction when activated.
  • Additional Controller Mapping Presets: Added 2 extra presets based on feedback.
  • Improved Drowning Mechanics: Falling into deep water no longer deals damage to the player, improving the drowning mechanic for a more seamless gameplay experience.
  • Enhanced Climbing Sequences: Improved climbing sequences, particularly in the Start Camp level, to provide smoother and more intuitive traversal mechanics.
Bug Fixes
  • Cinematic Loops: Fixed an issue where the final cinematic sequence from Kalios to Lyceum could get stuck in an indefinite loop.
  • Respawn Glitches: Resolved a rare bug where falling into water would cause the player to respawn on top of the water instead of on solid ground.
  • Character Behavior: Corrected an issue where Zan would walk out of cinematic scenes in Start Camp. Zan will now stay in place as intended. (He’s not that shy anymore).
  • Low Health Warning: Improved the low health status effect to alert players earlier, giving more time to react and heal.
  • Collectable Items: Fixed the collectable item counting in levels, which previously showed incorrect totals on the map.
  • Chapter Replay Fix: Addressed an issue in the replay chapter of “Inside the Monolith” during the fight against Haken, ensuring the encounter progresses smoothly.
  • Fixed the bug with the achievement: Ultimate Life Form not triggering properly at all times. (Players that already bought all the upgrades can unlock it by opening a store and waiting for a few seconds)

How to download updates for Astor: Blade of the Monolith for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Astor: Blade of the Monolith, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
