Ace Attorney 6: another commercial + preview and TV ranking for the anime
Ace Attorney 6
On Saturday, the second episode of Gyakuten Saiban: Sono “Shinjitsu”, Igiari! (the Ace Attorney anime series) aired in Japan (available now on Crunchyroll). As announced previously, Capcom is also debuting some TV commercials for Ace Attorney 6 during the anime’s timeslot. Those use the same format as the special Court Videos skits, and while pretty short, they do feature some actual gameplay footage.
This week, only one new commercial aired. This one focuses on the special bonus costumes you can get by buying the game at launch (until June 29th):
- Athena Cykes: maid outfit
- Phoenix Wright: Furio Tigre outfit
- Apollo Justice: student outfit

Ace Attorney 6 (3DS) comes out on June 9th in Japan. A European and North American release has already been confirmed.
Ace Attorney anime series
The first episode of Gyakuten Saiban: Sono “Shinjitsu”, Igiari! (the Ace Attorney anime series) aired on April 2nd, and the series itself is off to a great start. According to Video Research, it was the 6th most popular anime episode during its airing week in the Kanto region, with a 6.5 average household rating. As a comparison, Yo-kai Watch had a 4.1 rating during the same week (but at a totally different timeslot).
Now it remains to be seen how popular the series will remain throughout its two cours. After all, the first episode of a TV series generally has a good rating (due to people watching out of curiousity, for example), but the real challenge is to keep the audience interested, so that they keep watching every week.
