ACA NeoGeo: patch to fix the issue with brightness coming next week, NAM-1975 releasing tomorrow

Last week, Hamster released the first games in their ACA NeoGeo series on the Nintendo Switch, in Europe and Japan:

  • THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’98
  • METAL SLUG 3
  • WAKU WAKU 7
  • WORLD HEROES PERFECT
  • SHOCK TROOPERS

If you’ve already played at least one of them, you probably noticed there’s something wrong with them: the picture is way too bright. But you don’t need to worry, or try to meddle with the settings in-game or on your Nintendo Switch…

Indeed, this is all perfectly “normal”, and there’s actually nothing wrong with your console. It’s an issue Hamster is already aware of (that impacts all 5 games mentioned above), and the developers are currently working on a patch that will fix it. Said patch will be released sometime next week, and will also fix the audio lag impacting sounds effects.

Speaking of the ACA NeoGeo series, the 6th game in the series on Nintendo Switch will be released tomorrow (March 9th) in Europe and Japan. It’s none other than NAM-1975, and it will cost 6.99€ / £ 6.29 / 823 Yen.

The Upcoming Releases page and the list of games with English (and other languages) options on the Japanese Nintendo eShop have both been updated! Unfortunately, we still don’t know when the first titles in the ACA NeoGeo series will be released in North America. The first titles will most likely be released on Thursday.
