Mario Day 2023: Mario bundle, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC, sales, and more

Mario Day (March 10th) is next week, and Nintendo of America have announced the various special events, promotions and activities that will take place to celebrate.

The first one is for all fans worldwide: Wave 4 of the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will launch on March 8th (North America) / March 9th (Europe, Japan).

  • Amsterdam Drift (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Riverside Park (Mario Kart: Super Circuit)
  • DK Summit (Mario Kart Wii)
  • Yoshi’s Island (New)
• Boomerang Cup
  • Bangkok Rush (Mario Kart Tour)
  • Mario Circuit (Mario Kart DS)
  • Waluigi Stadium (Mario Kart: Double Dash!!)
  • Singapore Speedway (Mario Kart Tour)

The second announcement is for North American fans who still don’t own a Nintendo Switch (or are looking to get an additional unit): a Nintendo Switch Mario Choose One Bundle. It includes the following:

• Nintendo Switch console (regular model)
• Red Joy-Cons
• a download code for one game: Super Mario Odyssey, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, or Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
• a The Super Mario Bros. Movie sticker sheet

That bundle costs $299.99, which is the same price as the console itself; in other words, this bundle nets you a free game (and some stickers!).

Europe is also getting a similar bundle on March 10th. The price is the same (299.99€ / £259.99), but the contents differ slightly: namely, players don’t get to choose the Mario game to get with their new console; it will be Super Mario Odyssey, end of story!

In Australia and New Zealand, that bundle will launch on March 31st!

The third and fourth announcements are for those looking to save some money on Mario games:

• Nintendo eShop Sale
  • Wave 1: from March 10th to March 23rd. Games and DLC on sale include Mario Party Superstars, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Yoshi’s Crafted World, and Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • Wave 2: March 24th to April 7th. Games and DLC on sale include Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Super Mario Maker 2, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury
• In-store sale: from March 5th to March 11th. Up to $20 off on games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Maker 2, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Mario Party Superstars. Up to $40 off Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit.

The fifth announcement is for fans who really want to discover the Super Nintendo World Theme park! From March 10th to April 25th, the the SUPER NINTENDO WORLD Family Fun Sweepstakes will take place on My Nintendo. One lucky winner will get to win a trip to Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood. There will be just one winner (who can take up to 3 guests with them)!

Finally, Nintendo announced some Mario events at select GameStop stores… on March 11th, from 12PM to 4PM. Visitors will be able to play select Mario games (like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe), and get free Mario-themed items.
