Pokémon news (September 4th) – Pokémon Shuffle: new events; more
Pokémon Shuffle
Today, two new events went live for Pokémon Shuffle on Nintendo 3DS and mobile platforms:
- Nintendo 3DS: special challenge giving you access to Emboar. Available until September 18th.
- Mobile: special challenge giving you access to Kyogre, requiring 2 hearts to be played. Available until September 18th.
Also, an update is available for Pokémon Shuffle Mobile, bringing the game to Ver. 1.1.0.

Slowpoke
Yesterday, The Pokémon Company uploaded the English version of the Slowpoke song:
Pokkén Tournament
Starting this week, Blaziken is finally available as a playable character in Pokkén Tournament. This follows a beta test period in August.

Battle Competition
Yesterday, a new battle competition for Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire. Here’s the rules:
- Double Battles
- National Pokédex
- Pokémon banned: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, and Diancie.
- Registration: from September 17th to September 24th.
- Battles: from September 25th to September 27th.
Also, The Pokémon Company announced that a battle competition would be held sometime in November. They are currently running a survey for it, asking fans about the format of the competition. Here’s the different options available:
- No Mega: Mega Stone held items are prohibited.
- Inverse Double Battles: All type matchups are reversed.
- Anything Goes: Triple Battles in which multiples of any and all Pokémon and items are permitted (including Pokémon brought over via Poké Transporter).
- Anti-Evolution: Only Pokémon that can’t evolve and haven’t evolved are permitted. (Mega Evolution does not count as having an Evolution.) All
- Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are banned.
- Underdogs: Pokémon that finished among the top 12 in any 2015 Double Battle Online Competition are banned.

Pikachu Cup
Since Pikachu ranked #3 in overall usage during the Pikachu Cup, all players who participated in at least 3 matches can now get a special Pikachu via a download code (found on the Pokémon Global Link). This Pikachu knows Endeavor (a move it can’t normally learn), and holds a Light Ball. You have until October 30th to get it.
