Sudoku Party: details, pricing, and footage

Today, Lightwood Games sent a press release to share some details about their next game: Sudoku Party. The game features 1 000 puzzles, which can be played in Single Player, but also in co-op (with a second player that can join at any time). There’s also a Party Mode, where two players can compete and see who can solve the puzzles the fastest.

This mode is a bit special, because the two players actually work together to solve the same introductory-level puzzles, but at the same time, they compete in order to see who can control the largest number of squares. For each square you complete, you get a point. In order to score that point, your opponent needs to react and solve it quickly.

The Wii U version takes advantage of the large touchscreen, and also offers button controls. The second player can use a Wii Remote, a Wii U Pro Controller, or even a Classic Controller to play. On Nintendo 3DS, you will be able to use Download Play to share the game with another player, though you can also chose to play online if you prefer.

Here’s some gameplay footage for the multiplayer:

Sudoku Party will be released on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS on March 16th in North America, and March 23rd in Europe. It will cost USD $ 5.00 / GBP £4.50 / EUR €5.00 / CAD $7.00 / AUD $7.00. The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
