Zelda: Twilight Princess HD – Fewer Tears of Light in Lanayru province, Famitsu scans

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess HDAs announced yesterday, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is featured this week in the latest issue of Famitsu. The magazine has four pages about the game, but unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be anything really new in there.

Thanks to the scans below, we get to see several screenshots for the game, allowing us to see for ourselves the improved graphics. One of them compares the ladder in front of Link’s house, showing the increased level of details (and an increased limit for your rupees, up to 2000 at least). It’s nothing truely groundbreaking, but a noticeable improvement nonetheless.

The scans below don’t show any major change compared to the original on Wii (besides the graphics), but we did manage to spot one. One of the screenshots below show the fight against the Twilight Bloat, at Lake Hylia. One of the right side of the screen, we can see the Vessel of Light, with the Tears of light.

On the Wii U version, there is 11 Tears of Light in the Vessel of Light…

Tears of Light Wii U… but there’s 15 of them in the Wii version:

Tears of Light WiiThis would mean that Nintendo changed the quests with the Vessel of Light in at least one region. Those sections were not the most popular in the original, so it’s not surprising Nintendo somewhat made them shorter by having fewers Tears of Light to collect. However, we will have to wait for an official announcement before finding out more about that particular change, and if it applies to all regions.

Update: in the original game, there’s a section where you travel upriver on the back of a twilight beast, with four tears of light to collect in that area. It looks like there’s 4 tears less to collect in the Lanayru province. Mere coincidence?

We should have more details about The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD in the upcoming days/weeks!

Finally, here’s the Famitsu scans:

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (Wii U) comes out on March 4th in Europe and North America, and March 10th in Japan.
