Super Mario Run: latest content updates and events

Super Mario Run

Just like Miitomo, it looks like Nintendo is planning to regularly add new content to Super Mario Run (only buildings for Kingdom Builder so far), along with events. Therefore, we’re creating this post, in order to gather all content updates and events for the game.

Current Events

  • [Log-in Bonus] The first item of the second Super Mario Odyssey set is now available: Mario (Wedding) Statue (available until November 15th) [see November 10th update]
  • [Event] Starting today, and for a limited time, some more Super Mario Odyssey items are available as Log-in Bonus and in the shop. Check out this post for more details! (available until November 28th) [see November 10th update]
  • [Shop] The first set of Super Mario Odyssey items is back, but in the shop this time (available until November 28th) [see November 10th update]
  • [Log-in Bonus] Special Log-in Bonus: 10 Toad Rally Tickets (once, available until January 31st)

November 24th

  • [Log-in Bonus] The fourth item of the second Super Mario Odyssey set is now available: Peach (Wedding) Statue (available until November 28th)

November 20th

  • [Log-in Bonus] The third item of the second Super Mario Odyssey set is now available: Bowser (Wedding) Statue (available until November 28th)

November 15th

  • [Log-in Bonus] The second item of the second Super Mario Odyssey set is now available: Pauline Statue (available until November 20th)

November 10th

  • [Event] Starting today, and for a limited time, some more Super Mario Odyssey items are available as Log-in Bonus and in the shop. Check out this post for more details! (available until November 28th)
  • [Log-in Bonus] The first item of the second Super Mario Odyssey set is now available: Mario (Wedding) Statue (available until November 15th)
  • [Shop] The first set of Super Mario Odyssey items is back, but in the shop this time. You can now purchase the following: Cappy Statue (2 000 Coins), Captured Goomba Statue (1 000 Coins), Captured Hammer Bros. (1 500 Coins), Captured Chain Chomp Statue (3 000 Coins) (available until November 28th)

Ocrober 24th

  • [Event] The Loads of Coins event is now live, and allows you to earn 1.5 times the usual amount of coins when you win at Toad Rally (available until November 9th)

October 10th

  • [Log-in Bonus] Since the RT campaign mentioned below was successful, all players can now get a Gold Daisy statue as Log-in Bonus!

October 9th

  • [Event] For a limited time, the appearance rate of 5 * items in the Bonus Game in Remix 10 is powered up, making it more likely for you to get one. Eyeing those 5 * Mario, Peach, or Bowser statues? Now is the time to try your luck! (available until October 23rd)

October 6th

  • [Event] Today, a Retweet event for Super Mario Run went live. All you have to do is Retweet the tweets below, and if enough people do the same, you will be able to get special statues as Log-in Bonus in-game. You have until October 10th 1AM CEST / 12AM BST (Europe) / October 8th 11.59PM PDT – October 9th 2.59AM EDT (North America) / October 9th 4PM JST (Japan).

Here’s how many Retweets are needed:

  • 5 000: Daisy Statue (already unlocked)
  • 10 000: Gold Daisy Statue (already unlocked)

September 29th

  • [Log-in Bonus] Special Log-in Bonus: starting September 29th, and until January 31st, you can get 10 Toad Rally Tickets once;

September 1st

August 23rd

  • [Log-in Bonus] Due to a mistake in the previous in-game notification (fewer Gold Goomba Statues were available in the current Gold Goombas Mega Event than mentioned in said notification), all players will get 3 Gold Goomba Statues as apology gift if they log-in at least once before August 31st.

August 10th

  • [Event] The Gold Goombas Mega Event is now live, until August 31st. Just like the first time around, there are Gold Goombas to be found in the World Tour levels, and defeating them allows you to get coins and stamps. Said stamps go on Stamp Cards, which gives you various goodies when completed: Gold Goomba Statue (Card 1), Gold Goomba Statue (Card 2), Gold Goomba Statue (Card 3), and Big Gold Goomba Statue (Card 4)

July 27th

  • [Event] The Loads of Coins event is back until August 10th. During this event, if you win at Toad Rally, then you will get 1.5 times the usual amount of coins. Unfortunately, if you happen to lose, you will still get the usual amount of coins, but at least you will not lose more Toads. Also, do note you need to complete the Kingdom Builder tutorial before being able to take part in this event.

July 13th

  • [Event] Today, a new event for Super Mario Run (and more specifically the Friendly Run feature) went live.

This third run of the Friendly Run Event is live until July 27th, and allows you to get Rally Tickets simply by playing Friendly Run during the event. The good news is, you get some whether you win or lose. Playing every day allows you to rack up Rally Tickets like crazy, making sure you never run out of tickets.

You can play only once if you haven’t cleared World 1, three times if you have cleared it World 1, and up to five times if you have cleared World 5.

June 14th

  • [Event] The Super Mario Odyssey collaboration event is now live. Some special Super Mario Odyssey-themed buildings are now available for purchase (until July 6th):
  1. Cappy (if you tap it, you can switch between the Mario cap and the Silk Hat “forms”) (2 000 coins)
  2. Captured Goomba (1 000 coins)
  3. Captured Hammer Bros. (1 500 coins)
  4. Captured Chomp-Chomp (3 000 coins)

May 12th

  • [Log-in Bonus] The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Release Event is now over. The total number of Toad Rally plays is 87 492 384. The following rewards are now available as special Log-in Bonus: Banana Statue (x2), Looper Statue, Mario Kart Statue, and Nintendo Switch Statue (available until June 12th)

April 28th

[Event] The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Release Event is now live, and runs from April 28th to May 11th. During that period, certain “deluxe” buildings and decorations will be given to all players depending on how many times players worldwide play Toad Rally.

Total Toad Rally Plays (as of May 6th): 50 434 272 times.

Here’s the rewards players can unlock:

  • 10 million Toad Rally Plays: Banana Statue [already reached]
  • 20 million Toad Rally Plays: Banana Statue [already reached]
  • 30 million Toad Rally Plays: Blooper Statue [already reached]
  • 40 million Toad Rally Plays: Mario Kart Statue [already reached]
  • 50 million Toad Rally Plays: Nintendo Switch Statue [already reached]

April 26th

  • [Event] The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Release Event will take place from April 28th to May 11th. During that period, certain “deluxe” buildings and decorations will be given to all players depending on how many times players worldwide play Toad Rally. More details will be available on Friday.
  • [Log-in Bonus] Due to an issue during the Loads of Coins event, on April 19th, all players can get 5 Rally Tickets as a special log-in bonus.

April 13th

  • [Event] The Loads of Coins event is back until April 24th. During this event, if you win at Toad Rally, then you will get 1.5 times the usual amount of coins. Unfortunately, if you happen to lose, you will still get the usual amount of coins, but at least you will not lose more Toads. Also, do note you need to complete the Kingdom Builder tutorial before being able to take part in this event.

March 30th

  • [Event] The Gold Goombas Mega Event is now live, until April 13th. Just like the first time around, there are Gold Goombas to be found in the World Tour levels, and defeating them allows you to get coins and stamps. Said stamps go on Stamp Cards, which gives you various goodies when completed: Dandelion (Card 1), Pirahna Plant Statue (Card 2), Dandelion Trio (Card 3), and Cherry Blossom Tree (Card 4)

March 27th

  • [Event] The Gold Goombas Mega Event is coming back on iOS, and will be available for the first time on Android. During that event, you will be able to get bonus coins by defeating Gold Goombas found in the various World Tour levels, but also some surprises if you defeat a lot of them (you can click here for more details, from the previous run of this event). This second run of the Gold Goombas Mega Event will be live from March 30th to April 13th.

March 25th

  • [Shop] Some new fireworks cannon are now available in the Store, until April 24th

March 24th

  • [Event] Play Every Day event (runs for two weeks): allows you to get various in-game goodies as log-in bonus every day (such as coins, Rally Tickets, special buildings, and more). Here’s the schedule:
  1. March 24th: 1 000 Coins
  2. March 25th: 10 Rally Tickets
  3. March 26th: Red Pipe A
  4. March 27th: 500 Coins
  5. March 28th: Red Flowering Bush
  6. March 29th: 5 Rally Tickets

Today, a new event for Super Mario Run went live.

That event is called Loads of Coins, and it will run until March 22nd. During that period, if you win at Toad Rally, then you will get 1.5 times the usual amount of coins. Unfortunately, if you happen to lose, you will still get the usual amount of coins, but at least you will not lose more Toads. Also, do note you need to complete the Kingdom Builder tutorial before being able to take part in this event.

February 16th

Today, a new event for Super Mario Run (and more specifically the Friendly Run feature) went live.

February 3rd

Today, a special event celebrating the release of Fire Emblem Heroes went live. Since it was released on February 2nd, Nintendo decided to give all Super Mario Run player 2 222 coins as gift (that will be sent to the Gift Box as a single reward). The notification doesn’t specify when the gift will expire.

February 1st

Today, a new event went live, and will run until February 22nd: “Mega Event! Gold Goombas!” Click here for more details about it.

January 16th

Today, a new event for Super Mario Run went live.

That event is called Loads of Coins, and it will run until January 26th. During that period, if you win at Toad Rally, then you will get 1.5 times the usual amount of coins. Unfortunately, if you happen to lose, you will still get the usual amount of coins, but at least you will not lose more Toads. Also, do note you need to complete the Kingdom Builder tutorial before being able to take part in this event.

December 27th

Today, a new event for Super Mario Run (and more specifically the Friendly Run feature added a few days ago) went live.

December 19th

Today, Nintendo added the following festive buildings (for Kingdom Builder) to the Shop:

  • Poinsettia
  • Sparkly Christmas Tree
  • Sparkly Snow Globe

Those items will be available until January 5th.
