Super Mario 30th Anniversary – Game Center CX SP at NicoNico Chokaigi 2015 recording

As announced a few weeks ago, a special episode of Game Center CX was recorded live during NicoNico Chokaigi earlier this morning. As the title implies, it was a Super Mario 30th Anniversary special, focused on two specific games: Super Mario Bros. (on the NES) and Mario Maker (on the Wii U).

There’s two parts:

– in the first one, Shinya Arino tries to play Super Mario Bros. on the NES. Sounds easy, right? Well, there’s obviously a twist somewhere… He actually has to play it with a DanceDance Revolution mat. As you can imagine, this isn’t quite the most adequate controller for the rather stiff and slippery controls of the very first Super Mario Bros. game!

– in the second one, Mario Maker is showcased. Before the show, Shiny Arino made three special levels using Mario Maker, and had three special guest try to complete them. The third guest is none other than… Shigeru Miyamoto himself! [Click here if you don’t want to watch the first part]

NB: the “glitch” at the end happened during the livestream (problem was from NicoNico).

Mario Maker (Wii U) comes out in September, worldwide.
