My Nintendo: Kid Icarus Uprising anime shorts available as rewards in Japan

In order to promote Kid Icarus Uprising, Nintendo and Sora Ltd asked three famous animation production companies (Production I.G., Shaft, and Studio 4°C) to make animated shorts. They each featured their own art style, original stories, and focused on specific characters. They basically highlighted some of the main elements of the game: the action, the humour/dialogues, and the characters.

Today, Nintendo announced that the three animated shorts would be added as rewards on My Nintendo tomorrow, in Japan. It’s not clear whether Europe and North America will also get them, but there really is no reason for those two regions not to get them.

Here’s the details about those new rewards:

  • [3DS] Medusa’s Revenge (Studio 4°C)(eShop]: 80 Platinum Coins [available until October 1st]
  • [3DS] Palutena’s Revolting Dinner Part 1 & 2 (SHAFT)(eShop): 80 Platinum Coins for each part [available until October 1st]
  • [3DS] Thanatos Rising Part 1, 2 & 3 (Production I.G)(eShop): 80 Platinum Coins for each part [available until October 1st]

Unfortunately, we don’t know how long those animated shorts will be available via My Nintendo, and we will probably have to wait until tomorrow before finding that out. One thing we do know, however, is that the release of the animated shorts coincides with the start of the Nintendo eShop 5th Anniversary sale in Japan (which hasn’t been announced -yet- for Europe or North America).

Our My Nintendo rewards page has been updated now that we have the expiration date for those rewards!
