The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary Music Collection releasing next month in Japan

Update: added the list of games to be featured on the album!

For the 30th Anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series, Nintendo has several “events” in store, including a series of orchestral concerts in Japan. There’s also a special artbook, called The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Graphics (30th Anniversary Book 1)(by the Nintendo Dream magazine staff), which is releasing at the end of the month and is currently available for pre-order on CD Japan [NB: affiliate link].

And it turns out there’s still more to come, as an album called The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary Music Collection will be released next month in Japan (on September 28th, to be more precise). As the name implies, the album features a selection of music tracks from the many Zelda games released since 1986, but it’s not clear if this covers only mainline entries, or if spin-off are also included.

This The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary Music Collection album will have two CDs, but unfortunately, no tracklist is available as of writing (this post will be updated as soon as we get it!). All we know is that the tracks have been “carefully selected”, though it’s pretty easy to imagine which tracks were picked up.

Here’s the list of games to be featured on this album:

  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Zelda II: Adventure of Link
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D
  • The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
  • The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords +
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
  • The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
  • The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
  • The Legend of Zelda: TriForce Heroes

The product description does mention that some of the tracks will be available in CD quality for the very first time, which is pretty good news for audiophiles!

The Legend of Zelda 30th Anniversary Music Collection album will cost 3 240 Yen (taxes included), and will be released on September 28th in Japan. If you’re interested, you can pre-order it on CD Japan [NB: affiliate link].
