Gyakuten Saiban 6Now that the latest issue of Famitsu magazine is available in Japan, Capcom has updated the official website of Ace Attorney 6, adding some new details, screenshots, and even footage for the new characters, the gameplay systems, the story, and more.

Characters

This section has some artworks and footage for the new characters revealed in Famitsu magazine: Ema Skye (who is know a Forensic investigator), Trucy Wright, Mimi Nanano (Trucy’s assistant), and Kanenari Shinoyama (TV producer).

Here’s the footage for those characters:

Here’s the artworks for them:

Story

This section has details and screenshots for the second case of the game. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything really new in there, so please check out this post for more details! The website confirms that the animated cutscenes were done by A1-Pictures, the same studio who is producing Gyakuten Saiban: Sono ‘Shinjitsu’, Igiari! (the Ace Attorney anime series).

Head after the break for the rest of this post!

Systems

This section details the new and returning gameplay systems:

  • Investigation memo: this memo lists all the things you need to do during your investigation, so that you avoid getting stuck because you forgot something. Of course, you don’t have to use it if you prefer to do everything on your own.
  • 3D examination of evidence, and fingerprint dusting: just like in previous entries, you can examine specific pieces of evidence in 360°, in order to find details that cannot be found at first glance. But in Ace Attorney 6, this is coupled with dusting for fingerprints. While examining evidence, you can find fingerprints on it: you then need to use a special powder to make them appear clearly. After that, you select a finger, and then compare the fingerprint with the data of the suspect(s) and people involved with the case.
  • Perceive: when talking to people, Apollo Justice will notice they’re hiding something thanks to his bracelet. Using his Perceive ability, he can scrutinize their behaviour when they’re talking, in order to find oddities. For example, a character can scratch their earlobe everytime they talk about something in particular, which indicates they might be upset or hiding something. You then need to press them while pointing out those oddities, in order to get to the truth.
  • video footage: during court parts, you can analyse video footage from different angles in order to find and point out contradictions. The controls are pretty much the same as in previous entries, except there’s now a button that allows you to change the camera angle.

Screenshots

Finally, here’s some screenshots (and artworks) for the new characters and Case 2 (thethird screen is actually from the next commercial, to air on Saturday during the timeslot of the anime series):

Ace Attorney 6 (3DS) comes out on June 9th in Japan. A European and North American release has already been confirmed.
