Yo-kai Watch Busters: major update available (Getto Gumi), trailer

Yo-kai Watch Busters boxLast year, Level-5 released a third version of Yo-kai Watch 2 (called Shin Uchi) to go along with the first Yo-kai Watch movie. This year, the company is doing the same for Yo-kai Watch Busters, but there’s a major difference… the third version is released as a free update for the Aka Neko-dan and Shiro Inu-tai versions.

As mentioned previously, Yo-kai Watch Busters Getto-gumi includes the following: new Yo-kai, new big bosses and some new characters (from the second movie, hitting Japanese theatres on December 19th). Here’s a (partial) list of new content:

Yo-kai

  • B-USApyon
  • Red J
  • Mighty Dog
  • Onigama
  • Onigumo

Big Bosses

  • Robonyan 3000
  • Kakusei Hinojin
  • Captain Thunder
  • Captain Thunder (Honki Mode / Serious Mode)
  • Bushiou

Characters

  • Enmai Daiou
  • Nurarihyon
  • Fuu2

After the update has been installed, you can chose between the original version or the Getto-gumi version from the main menu (with three save files for each). Of course, you can transfer your save data if you want, or start a new playthrough. If you own both versions (Aka Neko-dan and Shiro Inu-tai), linking them will allow you to unlock the VIP room, with some goodies (including a rather flashy gold car!).

Here’s a trailer showcasing the Getto-gumi update:

Wondering when you will be able to enjoy all this new content? Well, the answer is… right now! Even though Level-5 announced that the update would be released on December 12th, it’s already available for download from the Nintendo eShop in Japan. To download it, you have several options:

  • launch the game from the Home Menu, while being connected to the internet
  • search for the game on the Nintendo eShop
  • use the option in the Nintendo eShop settings
