Yo-kai Watch 4 releasing on June 6th in Japan, price and subtitle revealed

Update: during a press conference, Level-5 confirmed that Yo-kai Watch 4 is indeed releasing on June 6th in Japan, as revealed in CoroCoro magazine (which leaked earlier this week). It was also announced that the game is getting a subtitle, and will be known as Yo-kai Watch 4: Bokura wa Onaji Sora o Miageteiru (which could be roughly translated as “We are looking up at the same sky”), a reference to the 3 protagonist from the 3 different worlds / eras.

Finally: the price. Level-5 revealed that it will cost 5 980 Yen + taxes, which is a fair bit more expensive than previous Yo-kai Watch games. For example, Yo-kai Watch Busters 2 cost 5 184 Yen. However, that was to be expected: pretty much all games saw their prices rise when moving to the Nintendo Switch.

On Friday, the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine will be released, and inside, there will be a major scoop regarding the latest entry in the Yo-kai Watch series: Yo-kai Watch 4. Indeed: the magazine will have no less than the release date for the game, which is officially slated for a Spring release. And after being delayed once, will the release date be pushed back even further? The answer is… no!

CoroCoro will reveal that Yo-kai Watch 4 will be released on June 6th. This is indeed a Spring release, and unless there’s a last minute delay, it will not miss the release window that was given to us back in October. First-print copies will include a crystal Yo-kai Ark.

Up until now, Yo-kai Watch games were all released either in July or December, to take advantage of the Summer holidays and the release of the latest Yo-kai Watch movie in December. This will be the first time since Yo-kai Sangokushi, released in April to take advantage of the Golden Week break, that a Yo-kai Watch game is released outside the two release windows we just mentioned (and the first time ever for a mainline entry).

As usual, more details about the game will surface later this week, with the usual update of the official website and maybe a brand new trailer. It looks like this month, the details will focus on Shin’s world.
