Yo-kai Watch 4: latest trailer, official website update (+ 6th Yo-kai Watch movie announced)

Today, Level-5 held a press conference about the Yo-kai Watch series, and that’s where the company confirmed that Yo-kai Watch 4: Bokura wa Onaji Sora o Miageteiru (the full title) will be released on June 6th in Japan.

Following that press conference, a brand new trailer for the game was revealed. Here it is:

Also, the official website was updated, sharing some additional details and pictures. First, we have the main illustration which is used as the boxart, as well as pictures of the Crystal Yo-kai Ark included as first-print bonus with physical copies of the game:

Yo-kai Watch 4 – About the game

As mentioned several times before, Yo-kai Watch 4 features several “worlds”:

Keita / Nate’s world

The game begins in this world. One day, Keita / Nate gets a mysterious key from the Crank-a-kai at Mount Wildwood Shrine. He’s then guided to a mysterious door that leads to 30 years in the future.

The main characters from that world are:

• Keita Amano / Nate Adams
• Whisper
• Jibanyan

Natsume’s world

In Natsume’s world, Keita gets to meet Natsume, who is none other than his very own daughter. Such a meeting should not be possible, if that world found beyond the mysterious door wasn’t from 30 years in the future.

The main characters from that world are:

• Natsume
• Junior
• Jibanyan (Shadowside)

Shin’s world

The world from the 5th Yo-kai Watch movie. If Natsume’s world is from 30 years in the future, this world is actually from the past! It allows you to travel back in time once more, this time to Springdale in the 1960s. It looks like the game takes place in the winter, as the town seems to be covered in snow.

The main characters from that world are:

• Shin Shimomachi
• Nekomata
• Suu-san

Yo-kai world

As expect, the 4th mysterious world is none other than the Yo-kai world (or rather, one of the “Yomakai”, which is the name of an individual area of the Yo-kai World). The main character from that world is none other than Lord Enma!

Yo-kai Watch 4 – Graphics

As mentioned previously, Yo-kai Watch 4 features vastly improved graphics over the Nintendo 3DS games. This time, they’re in full 3D (no overhead camera anymore), which allows you to see the world in a completely different light. Character animations have also been improved.

Today, Level-5 also announced that a 6th Yo-kai Watch movie will open this Winter in Japan (most likely in mid-December, like all previous movies). It’s called Eiga Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Gakuen Y – Neko wa Hero ni Nareru ka (lit. Yo-kai Watch Jam: The Movie: Yo-kai Academy Y – Cat I Become a Hero?).
