UK: video games sales for Week 16, 2016 (April 18 – 23)

During Week 16, not that many games came out in the United Kingdom, which is most likely why Star Fox Zero managed to rank so high. Despite being a Wii U game, and with rather mixed reviews to boot, it landed at #3 in the All-Formats chart, which is pretty a good performance. It didn’t manage to take over the popular PlayStation 4 version of Dark Souls III, which came out last week.

Now it just remains to be seen how long it’s going to stay in the top of the charts. Unfortunately, it’s bound to drop sharply as soon as next week, though it should manage to remain in the Top 40 until at least Early May. Naturally, Star Fox Zero is the new best-seller on Wii U.

Star Fox ZeroAs for the New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U combo (Nintendo Selects), it’s still in the Top 40, but lost 12 places at once. There’s no doubt it will be gone from the Top 40 altogether within the next couple of weeks. Unfortunately, it’s one of the only two games on Nintendo platforms in the Top 40 for Week 16 (with Star Fox Zero). The best-selling title on Nintendo 3DS, Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, didn’t sell enough to get in.
