Touhou Spell Carnival – Ver. 1.02

  • Release date: June 20th 2024 (Japan)
  • Patch notes:
  • Fixed a bug blocking progress in the tutorial stage if certain events occured while the movement range was displayed.
  • Fixed a bug causing the game to throw an error when recovering from Confusion status under certain conditions.
  • Fixed an issue preventing the trophy ‘Special Equipment’ from unlocking even when conditions are met after clearing a mission.

  • Patch notes:
  • Fixed a bug blocking progress if a temporary moving trump card is activated at the end of battle.
  • Fixed a bug blocking progress due to enemy actions.
  • Adjusted game balance on some stages.
  • Adjusted some skills.
  • Fixed issues with some skills, abilities, and status changes.
  • Fixed issue with some character models and animations.
  • Changed the clear conditions for some missions.

How to download updates for Touhou Spell Carnival for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Touhou Spell Carnival, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;


  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
