The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – More details (Bind)

After some character profiles and over 7 minutes of footage last week, Nintendo has shared some more details about The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom today. This time, the focus is on a key game mechanic: Bind.

With Bind, you can (literally) bind various objects to Princess Zelda. In doing so, you can move them in sync with her movements. That way, you can easily move around objects that are far bigger and heavier than her, such as massive rocks for example.

Bind can also be used to pull things around. Imagine you come across a treasure chest half buried into the ground. You obviously cannot open it when it’s like that, but if you use Bind, you can easily pull it out and claim its contents for yourself!

And that’s not all! Bind can also be used on monsters. Don’t feel like fighting them? Simply use Bind to drop them into a pitfall!

Alternatively, you can use them as as a shield. Sea Urchins are particularly suitable for that use of Bind: not only do they not move (making it easy for you to Bind them in the first place), but their pointy spikes will damage enemies when you ram the Sea Urchin into them!

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (Switch) comes out on September 26th worldwide.
