The Jackbox Party Pack 9: official trailer and details about all 5 games

Jackbox Games are back with another pack of party games on Nintendo Switch, logically called The Jackbox Party Pack 9. No release date yet, but as usual, this new pack will be released this Fall in Europe and North America (exclusively via the Nintendo eShop).

And yesterday, Jackbox Games revealed the official trailer for this new Party Pack:

The Jackbox Party Pack 9 includes the following games:

Fibbage 4 (2-8 players)

The hilarious bluffing party game returns with an all new Final Fibbage, themed episodes, video questions, fan-submitted questions, and Fibbage Enough About You mode! It’s a game so beloved that we decided to slap a 4 on it

  • Everyone’s favorite trivia host, Cookie Masterson
  • Fibbage Enough About You mode, where all the questions are about you and your friends
  • Cookie’s VHS Vault, with video clips from the craziest old movies we could find (under Cookie’s bed)
  • Fibbage Fan Questions, with real weird stories told on video by the real Fibbage fans that lived them (Like you maybe? See below!)
  • More question categories
  • An all new Final Fibbage
  • Themed episodes
  • New audience features
  • Updated moderation tools
  • And more!

Quixort (1-10 players)

In this trivia sorting factory, work with your team to sort falling answers into their proper order before they hit the floor! Or, play the single player mode and see how many blocks you can sort before topping out. It’s as easy as A, C, B!

If that last sentence had you screaming “Those are in the wrong order!,” “Why would you place them that way?!” or “I demand the ability to put those things in the proper place!”, well have we got a game for YOU!

Quixort gives players a simple prompt like “Put these planets in order from closest to the sun, to farthest from the sun.” Easy, right? Well, hold on there, partner.

Quixort asks you to sort the answers (in this case planets) as falling blocks, guided by adorable little robots just trying to make a living in this trivia sorting factory. So all you have to do is guide the falling blocks into their correct order and net your team a big score.

Wait, did you just read TEAMS? Well, there are teams! So you and your group can join forces and talk through (probably yell) where each block needs to go as it falls.

And if teams aren’t your thing, there’s Quixort Forever, a separate game mode that lets a single player or team see how long they can place blocks before topping out. Just like the main game, you place your blocks, but in Quixort Forever, your wrong answers hang around.

Junktopia (3-8 players)

A strange wizard has turned you into a frog! Create hilarious backstories for weird objects and then get them appraised by your fellow players. More votes equals more value and then poof! You’re a human again!

Have you ever watched an episode of Antiques Roadshow and thought, “This is great, but I wish it were competitive, magical, a video game, and something I could do from the comfort of my own home with friends and loved ones?”

Well, good news, weirdo! Your highly-specific prayers have been answered, in the form of Junktopia – the fourth game joining The Jackbox Party Pack 9!

Junktopia is a joke-driven writing game where you win by building funny backstories for unusual objects. As you enter the world of Junktopia, you and your fellow players have all been turned into frogs by a strange wizard, Nikolas Knackalus – but don’t worry, he’ll turn you right back! If you can turn the most profit by reselling some strange antiques.

You’re going to get the chance to buy evocative, beautiful, and frankly weird pieces from the shop, and then use your creative minds to write a few hilarious facts about them. The group will then appraise the objects based on their new backstories; more votes equals more value added.

Generate some laughs, rank your favorites, get some cool cash for your cute quips, and voila!  You’ll be back in your non-frog bods in no time. Hopefully.

Will you spend big on a frighteningly funny figurine? Or buy low on a humble hat, and let your jokes do the talking? As they say in Junktopia…there are lots of ways to win when you’ve got nothing to lose!

Nonsensory (3-8 players)

Professor Nanners is here to test your NSP (Nonsensory Perception) in this drawing, writing, and guessing game! How close can you get to guessing where another player’s prompt ranks on the silliest of scales?

What if you could read the minds of other people? Not just guess at the boring common sense stuff, but what if you could accurately intuit the secret nonsense in the minds of your friends?

Nonsensory is a silly, laid-back drawing, writing AND guessing game, hosted by Professor Nanners. She’s hoping to test your levels of NSP (Nonsensory Perception).

Can you make up a movie title that would be 80% likely to be the box office smash of the summer? Can you draw a puppy that’s only a 3 out of 10 on the adorableness scale?

More importantly, how close can you get to guessing the secret numbers of the other players? Is that text message 40% or 50% passive aggressive? Does that meal look like it’s 90% or 100% likely to give you diarrhea? Does that book title sound like it was written for a 10 year old or a 20 year old? Does that weirdly drawn car look like it would cost $40,000… or $40?

These are the important questions.

The closer you get to the correct number the more points you receive. Getting close… even kinda close… is still worthwhile. Are you ready to unlock your powers of Nonsensory Perception?

Roomerang (4-9 players)

Channel your inner reality TV star in an attempt to come out on top of your fellow players! Respond to prompts, bring the competition and role-play to avoid being voted out. Never fear though, even when you’re out you’ll find yourself Roomerang-ed right back into the drama!

The Jackbox Party Pack 9 (Switch – eShop) does not have a release date yet, but is slated for a Fall 2022 release in Europe and North America.
