The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow unearths the horrors of English folklore on January 25th
Wadjet Eye Games have announced their latest game for the Nintendo Switch: The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow, a folk horror adventure game set in rural Victorian England, developed by Cloak & Dagger Games. It will launch on January 25th in Europe and North America, and will cost 14.99€ / £13.49 / $14.99.

In this game, you get to follow the adventures of Thomasina Bateman (an antiquarian writing a book on the barrows of England) who travels all the way to the small village of Bewlay in order to investigate Hob’s Barrow. But once there, she starts uncovering things far more sinister than mere treasures…

Antiquarian Thomasina Bateman is writing a book on the barrows of England, documenting the treasures she finds buried within. When an intriguing letter summons her to the small village of Bewlay, tucked away in the remote countryside, she sets off by train with her assistant a day behind. Upon her arrival, however, the mysterious man who summoned her is nowhere to be found. Her assistant never arrives. A stubborn landowner refuses access to the barrow, and the locals are wary of this woman who is traveling alone and (gasp!) wears trousers. The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow is off to a rocky start. And then Thomasina starts having strange dreams…
