Super Smash Bros. (Wii U / 3DS): new update (Ver. 1.1.4) and DLC available
Last week, it was announced that the latest and last batch of DLC for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS would be released on Thursday morning (Europe and Japan) / Wednesday evening (North America). But as usual, in order to buy this DLC, you first need to download and install the latest updates. They add not only the new characters and stages, but should also include some more bug fixes and game balance changes.
The update brings both versions of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS to Ver. 1.1.4 . Here’s the details for each version:
Wii U

Users will be able to purchase newly added downloadable content.
Adjustments have also been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.
To download this update, you need at least 1 153MB of free space on your Wii U or external HDD. To do so, you have two options:
- let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated. You should have the latest version installed the next time you turn on your Wii U.
- if you don’t, you can launch Super Smash Bros. for Wii U from the Home Menu (not the Quick Start Menu), in order to trigger the download and install of the update.
To check out that you have the latest version of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, simply launch the game: you should see “Ver. 1.1.4” at the bottom right corner of the screen.
Nintendo 3DS

Adjustments have also been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.
To download this update, you need at least 442MB / 3 538MB blocks of free space on your SD Card. To do so, you have three options:
- launch the game from the Home Menu, while being connected to the internet: you should get a prompt when doing so;
- search for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS on the Nintendo eShop;
- use the option on the Nintendo eShop settings page.
To check out that you have the latest version of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo, simply launch the game: you should see “Ver. 1.1.4” at the bottom right corner of the top screen.
