Super Smash Bros. (Wii U / 3DS): all the announcements and pictures, updates available

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U 3DS

Presentation

New fighters

During this final presentation, two new fighters were revealed:

  • Corrin (your avatar in Fire Emblem Fates), which will be available in both male and female versions. Unfortunately, it will not come with an additional stage, but two music tracks will be added in the Wii U version. That includes “Lost In Thoughts”, Fire Emblem Fates’ main theme. On Nintendo 3DS, two new trophies will be added (Ryoma and Xander)

Corrin will be available sometime in February, and will cost £4.49 / 4.99€ / $4.99 on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, and £5.39 / 5.99€ / $5.99 on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

  • Bayonetta, who will have two costumes: “Bayonetta 1” and “Bayonetta 2” costumes. There’s also various colours, including one that makes her look just like Jeanne.
Mashiro Sakurai revealed that she was the most popular in the Fighter Ballot in Europe, and was in the Top 5 in North America. But when it comes to what was actually possible (taking into accounts various issues such as rights), she was the n°1 choice worldwide.
Bayonetta will come with a brand new stage, the Umbra Clock Tower (which is based on the memorable intro scene from the first Bayonetta). On Wii U, there will be several music tracks from Bayonetta 1 and 2, along with remixes. The developers also created trophies for Bayonetta, Jeanne, Rodin, and Cereza.

Bayonetta will be available sometime in February, and will cost £5.39 / 5.99€ / $5.99 on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, and £6.29 and 6.99€ / $6.99 on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

We also got the release date for Cloud… today! As mentioned previously, he gets two costumes: original and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. He’s available right now, comes with the Midgar stage, and costs £5.39 / 5.99€ / $5.99 on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, and £6.29 and 6.99€ / $6.99 on Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

5th wave:

  • Geno, from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Gunner)
  • Chocobo Hat, based on the Chobo from the Final Fantasy series (Hat)

The bundle with those two outfits costs: 1.58€ / £1.38 / $1.50 for Wii U / 3DS, or 2.38€ / 2.18£ / $2.30 for both. Separately, they cost 0.79€ / £0.69 / $0.75 on Wii U / 3DS and 1.19€ / $1.15 / £1.09 on both. They should be available right now!

Masahiro Sakurai confirmed that the new fighters (Bayonetta, Corrin and Cloud) would get their own amiibo, but we don’t have any date for now. Also, three figures will be released on March 18th in Europe and North America: Roy, Ryu, and R.O.B. (Famicom). Roy and Ryu will be released this Spring in Japan, which will not get the NES R.O.B. it seems.

– Geno Hat
– Geno Outfit (Gunner)

It costs 7.57€ / £6.77 / $7.49 on Wii U / 3DS, and 9.37€ £8.47 / $9.29 on both.
