Splatoon: results of the second Japanese SplatFest

Update

While we don’t have the full results just yet, we already know who won the second Splatfest in Japan thanks to the game’s official website. Japanese players were asked whether they prefered Akai Kitsune (a brand of Udon) or Midori no Kitsune (a brand of Soba), and it’s the Akai Kitsune team who won!

SplatFest are special 24 hour long events which take place regularly in Splatoon. During those, players have to answer a question (such as “Do you prefer cats or dogs?”), before joining a team depending on their answer. At the end of each SplatFest, the team with the most points win, so if you want to show people why cats are so much better than dogs, you better step up your game during Turf Wars!

This week, Nintendo finally announced the new dates for the very first European and North American SplatFests (following a delay due to some technical issues encountered during the Japanese one): July 4th, with the exact time in this post!

And today, Nintendo announced that the second Japanese SplatFest will start the day before the first one for Europe and North America, on July 3rd. Just like last time, the theme is food-related: “Akai Kitsune vs Midori no Tanuki”. For those who don’t know, those are two brands of real-life instant noodles (Akai Kitsune for udon, Midori no Tanuki for soba).

This is definitely why there’s a warning about product placement on Splatoon’s page on the Nintendo eShop! That being said, we don’t know if there’s going to be more product placements such as this one in future SplatFest (especially in Europe and/or North America).

JP SplatFest 2This second Japanese SplatFest will take place on July 3th and 4th (it will once again be 24h-long), at:

– Japan: 3PM
– Europe: 8AM
– UK: 7AM
– North America (EDT): 2AM
– North America (PDT): 11PM (June 2nd)

NB: this SplatFest is only for Japanese players (who fans who imported both a Wii U and Splatoon from Japan)!
