Splatoon: last Splatfest to take place from July 22nd to July 24th, Callie vs Marie

Update: the map rotation for the Splatfest has been announced. Check it out below!

***

Splatfest are special 24 hour long events that take place regularly in Splatoon. During those, players have to answer a question (like “Do you prefer cats or dogs?”), before joining a team depending on their answer. At the end of each Splatfest, the team with the most points wins, based on popularity and number of battles won.

And after 15 Splatfest, Nintendo announced today that the next one would be the very last… but also the biggest one to date! Indeed, it will take place at (almost) the same time in all three regions, with the same theme, and it will last significantly longer than a regular festival (even the cross-region ones).

This time around, players have to vote for their favorite Squid Sisters, with the following theme: Are you Team Callie, or Team Marie?

Splatfest 16This Splatfest will last from:

Europe / North America

  • Europe: July 22nd (11AM) to July 24th (11AM)
  • UK: July 22nd (10AM) to July 24th (10AM)
  • North America (EST): July 22nd (5AM) to July 24th (5AM)
  • North America (PST): July 22nd (2AM) to July 24th (2AM)
  • Japan: July 22nd (6PM) to July 24th (6PM)

Japan

  • Europe: July 22nd (6AM) to July 24th (6AM)
  • UK: July 22nd (5AM) to July 24th (5AM)
  • North America (EST): July 22nd (12AM) to July 24th (12AM)
  • North America (PST): July 21st (9PM) to July 21st (9PM)
  • Japan: July 22nd (12PM) to July 24th (12PM)

Map rotation (the same for all regions):

  • Walleye Warehouse
  • Kelp Dome
  • Moray Towers

While this Splatfest takes place at (almost) the same time worldwide, it’s not truly global: Japanese players will be matched up with Japanese players, while European and North American players will play with each other (cross-region). The Top 100 Players will also be tallied and announced separately for both “regions”. However, the final results for the Splatfest will truly be global, with all results combined together and announced at the same time.

Players will be able to start voting for their favorite Squid Sisters in-game from:

  • Europe: July 5th (4AM)
  • UK: July 5th (3AM)
  • North America (EST): July 4th (8PM)
  • North America (PST): July 4th (5PM)
  • Japan: July 5th (11AM)

But that’s not all: the stages for this final Splatfest will be chosen… by players themselves! Pretty soon, players will receive an email on the email address attached to their Nintendo Network ID. Click on the link inside, and you will be able to vote for the stages you want to play on during this final festival. Voting will end July 12th.
