Sonic Forces: Rental Hero feature revealed, more gameplay footage

As day go by and the release of Sonic Forces draws ever nearer, SEGA keeps revealing new details about the game on a regular basis. Today, the company shared some details about a brand new feature called Rental Hero, as well as some gameplay footage showcasing the Lightning Wispon, the Cube Wispon, and even the Infinite boss battle.

Let’s start with the new feature: Rental Avatar. It allows you to access the Hero Characters built by players around the world, granting you the ability to use their Wispons. The twist is that you can swap between one of those characters and your own at any point in the level. That way, you can use two different Wispons in a single level, which is pretty helpful when it comes to finding secret paths or even simply overcoming any obstacles.

Next, here’s some more gameplay footage for the game. The first video showcases the Bird Hero Character using the Lightning Wispon, and the Cat Hero Character using the Cube Wispon, in a Boss Battle against Infinite:

Sonic Forces (Switch) comes out on November 7th in Europe and North America, and November 9th in Japan.
